Brief summary of the basic rules:
- 45 minutes; hard cap 15; three throws after signal;
if equal it is equal.. - (Semi)finals: 45 minutes; Hard cap at 15; Three throws after signal; If equal: +1 point
- Each team has one 60-second time out, which can not be used in the last five minutes of the game.
- Scoring is done by the teams themselves.
- The line is out. You cannot drag the line, if you touch any part of the line then you are out.
- Stall count is 10.
- We use the new wfdf brick rules. If the disc is pulled outside the field, you can take the disc either on the brick spot or on the sideline where the disc left the field. Brick is at 10 meters.
- A dropped pull is a turnover. Also, a dropped pull makes you look like an idiot. This should be made clear to the pull dropper.
- Callahans are on!
The three throws:
After the ‘end-of-game’ signal, the first player in possession of the disc (either
because the player was already holding or gets possession after a catch/
turn) calls freeze. The disk gets checked in again by the same player
(stall start from max 6) and from then on there can be only three
(attempted) throws. If the disc has to go back to the player after a
(contested) foul or violation the throw doesn’t count. Note that a pool does not count as one of the three throws.
An example: time signal sounds at the moment team A scores a point, which results in a score of 10-10. Three throws left! The pool of team A is not one of the throws. Team B catches the pool and attempts a throw, but team B intercepts and scores a Callahan. Two throws left and the score is 11-10 for team A. Team A pools, where team B catches it. Followed by a succession of unsuccessful throws: team B, team A, team B, team A. Still two throws left. Then team B is in possesion of the disc and succeeds in a throw upfield. 1 throw left. Then during the next attempted throw a pick is called and the disc goes back.
Team B scores and the final score is 11-11.......... can get quite complex :)
