MONSTERBALL 2008 Ladies and Gents, boys and girls, Monsterball will take place on August 30/31, 2008!!!  We aim to bring the fun, energy and layouts of beach ultimate to the beach of Monster with an awesome party, sandy sand and really nice weather. The Details:

  1. Monsterball 2008 will take place on The Beach of Monster.
  2. The beach is extra awesome because of The Bondi beach club. The beach club will be our home base during the entire tournament, as well as the venue of the Friday night welcome party, the Saturday evening BBQ, and the Saturday night costume bash with live band.
  3. Accomodation: camping or chalets/bungalows at Camping De Molenslag located 100m from the beach club and the fields. Players pay for their own accomodation (see prices on campsite's website). If you're bringing a tent there's no need to reserve, just show up and pay for yourself. If you'd like to stay in a chalet/bungalow, you should reserve that in advance with the campsite.
  4. The players fee is 55 Euro (there is no team fee). The player's fee includes breakfast (Saturday and Sunday, make your own sandwiches for lunch), BBQ (Saturday evening), Friday evening welcome party, Saturday night costume bash with live band, plenty of ultimate and of course lots of sunshine. We'll send an email to team captains shortly with payment details. Payment is due by August 8th!
  5. The tournament is fully BULA compliant and is going to be played with [[http://beachultimate.org/5on5rules.html| five on five]] rules with open teams. We strongly encourage women to come to the tourney though.
  6. Most importantly, THE PARTY! The costume theme will be: Monsterball, a midnight showdown of good&bad / animals&robots / alcohol&girls / love&hate / cake&pie / sand,stars&wine. A costume isn't obligatory, but we'll be reeeeally disappointed if you don't bring one...

  • Eelke Yo, I'm Eelke. I started playing frisbee in 2003, and I never want to do anything else. On the frisbee field, I like to make offenders and defenders run their lungs out without getting the disk by jumping meters above them. Jon likes to think he usually throws the long ones I score and there is some truth in it. Off the field, I'm a PhD student, a music-lover, and a master of all aspects of partying excellence. Hope to see you on the beach in August!
  • Jan Willem Hello. My name is Jan Willem and during my ultimate years I have changed from a hyperspeed cutter to one lazy handler. I throw scoobertastic mayhem at my fellow players, make lazy poachy D's and I go for unnecessary layouts on the beach when I can. I train the shit out of my team mates and let them do all the running so I can party more at monsterball. See you there!
